I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Seattle Pacific University where I had an opportunity to do research with popular relationship expert and author, Les Parrot. After graduation, I was offered an exciting opportunity in commercial real estate with Lee & Associates in Ontario, California. Eventually I realized this was not my passion, and I returned to Azusa Pacific University to obtain a Masters in Education with a School Counseling credential. My thesis was on effective methods to prevent high school dropout.
Shortly after graduating, I worked for the Riverside County Office of Education as a Community Liaison. In 2015, I opted to return to graduate school to re-specialize as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). After four years of interning in a private counseling practice and church counseling center I recently completed my 3,000 hours of supervised post-grad internship. I now reside in San Juan Capistrano with my husband, six kids, three cats, hamster and a fish.
I specialize in life transitions, future-focused with a feasible vision working through the barriers that hold you up. Rick Warren recently said, “the number one barrier to your future is your past” and I couldn’t agree more. The box we put ourselves in and limits we’ve allowed others to speak into our lives can fall away so that you’re free to be who you were designed to be. It is my passion to walk that journey with you.
My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life. If divorce or postpartum depression is part of your struggle those are close to my heart too. Please note, you may opt-in to counseling which integrates Christian beliefs in your initial paperwork if you would like.
Looking for a different twist on book club or wine & canvas night? Look no further, this is such a fun way to create vision for what you want out of life. With a licensed therapist to guide you when you're stuck and push you to dig deep this makes for a fun evening with big impact. Also finding friends with similar goals and helping encourage each other can lead to deeper levels of friendship. Who knew you had so many friends that secretly dreamed of getting scuba certified or opening a non-profit or really just wanted to learn more about creating better wine pairings. This can also be a great *team building activity* at work to learn how to best support what's important to each employee as they envision their future.
Knowing your purpose can put everything else in focus. Whether you're debating which college to go to, which franchise might be a good fit or simply where to submit your application I am passionate about helping individuals form a feasible plan that fits their natural abilities, heart, and experience.
